I joined sorority to become part of the Arma community and to be part of a sisterhood that is dedicated to service. As a minister’s wife, new to the community, I wanted to build a deeper connection to the community to which we had just moved. Sorority definitely provided that. I also wanted a way to serve others, and a way to have a connection between my Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) students and the community. I wanted to teach my students to serve their community. Sorority provided many times a way the students could serve by letting them be involved in sorority activities and financially supporting them-including donating to our high school food pantry and giving scholarships. It also has provided me with a social group to enjoy fun times-and we have had a lot! I would encourage anyone who is interested in sisterhood and service to join this group.
